¡Allá tú! (English: "It's Up to You!") was the Spanish version of Deal or No Deal. Broadcast from 2004 until 2008 on Telecinco and in 2011 on Cuatro, it was a fairly popular show in Spain in its heyday and was presented by the well-known Spanish presenter, Jesús Vázquez.

The show challenged contestants to win €300,000 (later €600,000 yet after the top prize was increased any prize won by the contestant was split between them and a phone-in caller) by eliminating twenty-two boxes, and deciding whether or not to accept the deal.

Aired in an early evening time slot, the show was popular in its original run in 2004, and a ratings battle ensued between ¡Allá tú! and Antena 3’s local version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in the second and third series. After receiving a new set in 2007, ratings continued to slump, and the show was finally axed in 2008.

It was revived for a short period in 2011 on Cuatro, but this sadly failed to catch fire. Further revivals were discussed at length throughout the 2010s, yet nothing came of them until the show returned to Telecinco with Jesús Vázquez in 2023. The show lasted for two series before being axed once more in 2024.

Trivia[]

  • While Jesus was having a break to focus on another show, Silvia Jato and Arturo Valls took over.
  • The first 600.000€ winner was Gilbert de Tarragona in 2007.
  • The show is quite similar to Affari Tuoi, the Italian version and the British version of Deal or No Deal, where there are boxes rather than suitcases. The name ¡Allá tú! is very similar in meaning to the Italian name.
  • In most episodes, the smaller case values had joke prizes instead of cash amounts.
